Research and Planning: My Target Audience

It is important to take into consideration the target audience when creating my music magazine, as I want the right people to buy it.
For my magazine the target audience will be:
Age: 15 - 21
Gender: Male and Female
Occupation: Student
Class: Working/Middle class
Wealth: Students stereotypically don't have much money, although the lower end of the age bracket may get money from their parents, and the higher end of the age bracket may have a part time job.
Interests: My target audience would have a large interest in Indie music, to the extent they would buy a magazine about it. They may also enjoy going to gigs at underground venues, such as student union academies.
Outlook for future: The people reading my magazine are likely to carry on into education as far as possible and get degrees. Large amounts of them may also play musical instruments such as guitars and drums, and may be in a band that they wish to continue with, getting gigs and a fan base.

The socio-economic grouping for my target audience is E.

Research and Planning: Music Magazine Questionnaire

I handed out 10 identical questionnaires with 6 questions to people in my class. Each question was multiple choice and required people answering to choose one, two or as many as relevant answers. The results are below:

From my results, I have learned that most people like the interviews in music magazines. Because of this, my double page spread will be an interview. I have also learned that the colours people associate most with indie magazines are red, white and black. I will bear this in mind when designing my music magazine.
